A couple of months ago a friend of mine recommended Flyleaf to me, so I searched and ended up downloading a couple of tracks, Fully Alive and I'm So Sick.
Now that I actually have bought the album, these two songs sound a little different compared.
Fully Alive has a more produced sound at the beginning, and doesn't have the pre-chorus I'm used to. Okay, I guess I'm being a bit harsh here, considering I should be happy with the brilliant guitar break, but I kinda miss the first version I have, every time I hear the album version. I asked about it somewhere else, and I was told I had an acoustic version.
. Sure doesn't sound
acoustic to me.
I'm So Sick has a longer guitar riff at the beginning before Lacey starts singing. I think I prefer that, but.... what happened to the screaming? All of a sudden the song's not so special to me anymore (until I go back to my mp3 player for the first version I had).
I feel a little bit upset about downloading those two songs now, because it's made me not appreciate the album as much as I would if I'd never heard them. However I'm extremely curious as to where they came from. Am I lucky enough to have uncovered some rare demos on first hit?
Until I got the album, I was a little puzzled why lyrics sites never had the 'right' lyrics posted, but now I know.
